- Executive Perspective – Starting from the Initial Consultation call and continuing into our first in-person meeting, I gather information about the over-arching business problem from the decision-makers’ perspective.
- Ground Floor Discovery – As the saying goes, “no matter how flat you make a pancake, there are always two sides.” I gather both views of the real problem, taking multiple sources into account. I might interview everyone from the owner to the janitor, depending on the problem.
- Redefinition – Once I’ve gathered everyone’s perspective and add my insight, I help everyone UNDERSTAND what the real problem is. I look for leverage points and communication / process breakdowns. Often, the problem we uncover is significantly different than the original problem we set out to solve (which is exactly why working harder hasn't fixed the problem).
- Resolution – Here’s where we DECIDE on a path for fixing the issue. Now that we have all the information gathered, we commit to a solution strategy.
- Create Sustainability – In this phase, we get into ACTION mode. We put the team, processes, and tools in place to resolve the problem/conflict, and prevent future flare-ups.
